Change in Expected Vaccine Shipment Status

TILLAMOOK, Ore. —  The Tillamook County Public Health Department was notified by Governor Kate Brown’s office last night that states will not be receiving increased shipments of vaccines from the national stockpile next week, because there is no federal reserve of doses.

The governor and our health center share your frustration and your concern. As soon as we have more information, we will share it through with you.

We will continue to focus on using the vaccines we have to complete Phase 1A (frontline personnel, all health care providers, long-term living facilities, other congregate / group living homes, adult foster care, caregivers of medically fragile adults living at home, non-emergency medical transport and other public health sites.

Information regarding COVID-19 vaccine continues to change rapidly.  We will continue to provide updates as we receive them via: this page, our website at tillamookchc.org, weekly updates at BOCC meetings on Friday and Wednesday, and weekly radio spots on KTIL. The Health Center is setting up a new phone line for residents to call with questions about COVID19 vaccine that will be effective next week. The number will be published shortly.

COVID-19 is a highly infectious illness that spreads like the flu. Local and state health officials continue to urge all Oregonians to take steps to protect those who are most vulnerable to complications from COVID-19. Those considered “high risk” include adults 60 and older, or anyone with a serious health condition, including lung or heart problems, kidney disease, or diabetes, or anyone who has a suppressed immune system.

To help control the spread of the illness the public is urged to stay home as much as possible and avoid gatherings.

We ask all county residents to continue to take the necessary precautions and follow current public health gudiance to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus:

  • Follow guidance on face coverings.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Keep 6 ft of distance from those not in your immediate household.
  • Stay home if you feel ill.
