We are celebrating and featuring our health care staff who have been on the front lines during COVID-19

May 20th:

Our heroes are our Care Coordinators!

Our featured heroes this week are our care coordinators

Our care coordinators don’t wear scrubs very often, but they are a very important part of our clinical team.

They assist our patients with a wide variety of concerns, including insurance assistance, Spanish interpretation services, processing and following up on specialty and other referrals, and connecting our patients and families to community resources.

We are so proud to have them on our team!

Please join us in appreciation for our care coordinators, who are working to protect the health of our community.

Our heroes are our front desk staff!

Some of our favorite heroes are the folks at the front desk of our clinics. They may not always wear scrubs, but with smiles behind their masks, they are working on the front lines of this virus, answering questions, scheduling appointments and helping our patients get the help they
need. Our front desk team is an integral part of our health care team. Please join us in sharing appreciation for our front desk team.

April 29th:

Our heroes are our Medical Providers

https://tillamookchc.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/medical-providers-final-1.pdf

Most heroes wear capes, but our heroes wear scrubs!

We are continuing the series of #ourheroeswearscrubs, with our medical providers!

Led by our medical director, Lisa Steffey, D.O., we have a talented team of providers who are committed to respond to the needs of our community. Dr. Steffey’s team includes: Melissa Paulissen, M.D., Patricia Dannen, PA-C, Dove Rainbow, PA-C and Chris Craft, FNP.

Practicing medicine in a rural community is rewarding and challenging. In urban areas it is possible to specialize but rural providers must possess a broad range of medical knowledge and skills. Among other things, they must know how to treat a wide range of illnesses and injuries and when to seek specialty care for the best possible outcome. Our health care providers live, work, and play in our community.

By providing care to anyone in need, they are a key part of our County’s health, safety, and wellness. We are lucky to have health care providers serving on the front-line during this pandemic.

Please join us in sharing appreciation for our health care providers who are tirelessly working to protect and care for the health of our community.

April 22nd:

Our heroes are in public health!

https://tillamookchc.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/public-health-heroes-wear-scrubs.pdf

Public health works to promote and protect the health of the communities in which we live, learn, work and play. We work to promote wellness by encouraging healthy behaviors, community health, infection control, disease prevention and maternal, infant and child health.

Public health works to track disease outbreaks (like
COVID-19), plan and implement disaster preparedness and provide leadership and guidance for our communities on public health related concerns. Spreading the word about
ways to stay healthy by providing science-based solutions.

You might meet public health nurses at a community health screening event, in a school providing education on the risks of alcohol and tobacco use, at a community meeting providing public health updates or at a flu clinic. You might even see a public health nurse in your home through our
maternal case management, Babies First! or CaCoon home visiting programs.

Public health works to help our community thrive, promote better health throughout the lifespan and assure access to quality health care. Please join us in sharing appreciation for our public health team who is working to protect the
health of our communities. We may be biased, but we think that public health rocks!

Dr. Paulissen went to medical school at OHSU and did her residency in Family Medicine with Providence Health & Services. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
